BBC Scotland ((スコットランド・ゲール語:BBC Alba)) is the division of the British Broadcasting Corporation, the publicly funded broadcaster of the United Kingdom, which is responsible for broadcasting in Scotland. BBC Scotland employs approximately 1,250 staff to produce 15,000 hours of programming for television and radio in both Scotland and the rest of the UK. BBC Scotland has 3 TV channels (BBC1, BBC2, BBC Alba) and 2 radio stations. Scotland raises some £320 million in licence fee resource. However, spend on local content by BBC Scotland is set to fall to £86 million by 2016-17.〔http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/consultations/psb-review-3/responses/Scottish_Government.pdf〕 In contrast, the Republic of Ireland's public broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann has 5 TV channels (RTÉ1, RTÉ2, RTÉ News Now, RTÉjr, TG4)and 10 radio stations with budget of £220 million.
